Beginning March 8, 2013, Icelandair will resume operations from Toronto Pearson International Airport with four flights per week, marking the return of year-round service to Iceland from Canada.
“We have been eagerly awaiting this day for quite some time,” said Thorsteinn Egilsson, Icelandair’s General Manager – The Americas. “Our year-round service will offer Canadian travelers more choices and a refreshing alternative when flying to more than 20 destinations in Europe. Plus, we offer three classes of service and great fares.”
The Toronto flights are part of a 2013 route expansion, the largest in Icelandair’s 76-year history. The ambitious plan for growth also includes a new North American gateway, Anchorage, and the addition of two new European destinations, St. Petersburg and Zurich.
Icelandair operates year-round service to Iceland and more than 20 European destinations from Boston, Denver, New York (JFK), Seattle and Toronto. In addition, it offers seasonal service from Halifax, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Orlando (SFB) and Washington, DC (IAD). Only Icelandair allows passengers to stopover in Iceland for up to seven nights at no additional airfare.
