March 23rd marked the beginning of the 3rd annual Iceland Winter Games (IWG) in the city of Akureyri. Iceland Winter Games held its first competition in 2014 as only one event, the AFP world tour freeskiing competition. Today, IWG has become one of Europe’s biggest events, with competitions for skiing, snowboarding and even dog sledding. The Iceland Winter Games hosts some of the world’s greatest events found nowhere else, like the “Volcanic Big Air” and the “Peak to Surf.” IWG wrapped up on April 3rd leaving us with incredible photos and videos.

Team Europe and Team America each made videos about their journey through the Iceland Winter Games. The event jury came to the conclusion that Team Europe had a well-rounded, cinematic video and declared them the winners of the 2016 Iceland Winter Games Video Battle. Just because the contest is over for the videographers, doesn’t mean it’s over for everyone else. View the teams’ videos below and vote for your favorite to win a trip to Iceland!
