Cultivate Your Writing at Iceland Writers Retreat

New to Iceland in 2014 is the Iceland Writers Retreat, which is taking place April 9-13th in Reykjavik at the Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura. It’s no surprise that such a retreat would take place in Iceland, seeing as BBC News wrote an article citing one in ten people in the country will publish a book in their lifetime. The 2014 retreat will be loosely focused on the theme of travel and journeys.

Retreat attendees can look forward to developing their writing, exploring Iceland, and interacting with famous authors and like-minded writers. They will also participate in a series of workshops and panels led by a team of published international writers. These writers include Pulitzer Prize winning author Geraldine Brooks, New Yorker staff writer Susan Orlean, National Geographic Digital Nomad Andrew Evans, Scotiabank Giller Prize winner Joseph Boyden, and Man Booker Prize nominee James Scudamore.

“Between intimate workshops and lectures, the Iceland Writers Retreat offers the chance to tour the spectacular Golden Circle, sit in the cozy cafes of Reykjavik, soak in geothermal hot springs, listen to new Icelandic music, meet contemporary Icelandic writers, and learn about the country’s rich literary tradition.” This retreat provides the perfect escape to find inspiration and time to write, all while experiencing an unforgettable country.
