Celebrate the New Year by Watching Reykjavik’s Famous Fireworks Live!

Tune in to our Facebook page at 6:50pm ET for a livestream of the show!

Head to Iceland Naturally’s Facebook page at 6:50 p.m. EST / 3:50 p.m. PST on December 31 to watch more than 200,000 Icelanders ring in the new year with a world renowned fireworks display. Since Iceland is several hours ahead of North America, you can watch the celebrations before yours even begin!

This year, Iceland Naturally will go live from downtown Reykjavik so you can truly feel like you’re a part of the celebration and experience an entire sky illuminated with awe-inspiring lights. The livestream will also feature interviews and drone footage of the city sky so you can see just how far the fireworks stretch across the city!

The majority of proceeds from fireworks sales in Iceland went to the volunteer rescue group, Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue (ICE-SAR). This, along with the fact that there are no fireworks restrictions in Iceland during the holiday, make for an incredible display since almost everyone in Reykjavik (about 200,000 people) sets off their own fireworks!

In Iceland, New Year’s Eve is honored as a historic and traditional holiday, full of laughter, music and magic. The festivities kick off with dinner, followed by bonfires and a gathering of family and friends to listen to music and be merry. Bars and restaurants stay open all night on New Year’s Eve, so you can keep the dancing and celebrating going until the morning!

RSVP to our Facebook event to get a reminder before the live stream starts and make sure to let us know where you’re watching the show from by commenting on the Facebook livestream post! Be sure to like Iceland Naturally on Facebook to get notified when we go live with the fireworks!

Gleðilegt nýtt ár! (Happy New Year!)
