Up All Night With Icelandair’s “Midnight Sun & North Iceland” Travel Deal

Icelandair’s new travel package invites you to take a journey from Reykjavik to North Iceland, where mid-May through July the sun barely touches the horizon. To best experience the midnight sun (the natural phenomenon in which the sun does not set for twenty four hours) you have to be in Iceland! So for the occasion, Icelandair is offering a new travel package that includes non-stop flights, four nights accommodations, Flybus air transports, domestic flights and a Lake Myvatn midnight sun visit!

Upon arriving in Iceland, travelers are invited to spend a day in Iceland’s capital, Reykjavik. In Reykjavik, there are charming cafes, restaurants and museums to explore, as well as geothermal pools to dip into! After a breakfast the next morning, a 45-minute flight will bring you to Akureyri, the “Capital of the North”! Akureyri is Iceland’s second largest city, and is situated on one of the longest fjords in the country. Up north in Akureyri, the midnight sun will be stronger than anywhere else in the country, with a bright sky all night long above the gorgeous Icelandic wilderness.

In northeast Iceland, there is an abundance of beauty to see, experience and taste. The trip will bring visitors on a tour of the stunning Godafoss waterfall before stopping at Lake Myvatn. If you’ve ever watched HBO’s Game of Thrones, you’ll recognize the scenery as the land “beyond the wall” in Westeros! If you’ve never seen the show, you’ll be even more amazed to see such heavenly, untouched nature. Dinner will be held at a countryside restaurant, followed by a visit to the mystical Myvatn Nature Baths. Come and relax in geothermal pools and steam bath cabins, right in the midst of lava fields! After a comforting, yet adventurous day, guests will be able to return at night to their Akureyri hotel with the sun still hanging high in the sky.

The Midnight Sun & North Iceland vacation package is available for $1,715* per person from May 1 through July 31, 2015. Click here to book your northern getaway on Icelandair today!
