Björk has always been known to take an innovative approach to her music. Not only has she released albums as apps, but she’s also awed fans with tours comprised of various multimedia elements, stage set-ups and show-stopping costumes. Björk has certainly been at the forefront when it comes to integrating music and technology, and this year will be no different: the Icelandic artist is looking to up the ante once again with a forthcoming music video for “Stonemilker,” which will be available for Oculus Rift, a virtual reality headset.

Björk released a statement about her decision to use the virtual reality platform, saying “It’s easy to get really intimate [with virtual reality]. It’s almost more intimate than real life. It also has this crazy panoramic quality. I think it’s really exciting.”

A release date for the “Stonemilker” video has not yet been announced, but Björk enthusiasts can visit the Museum of Modern Art where her 20-year body of work, featuring both musical and tech-infused elements, are on display until June 7th. The unique exhibition draws from the artist’s 20+ years of daring and innovative projects, and chronicles her career through sound, film, visuals, instruments, and costumes.
