The 17th annual Reykjavik International Film Festival (RIFF) will take place from September 24th to October 2nd! After receiving a generous grant from the EU, RIFF has adapted their format and incorporated new technology to allow online screenings of the festival. In addition to films, guests will also have access to discussions, Q&A sessions, and other online events.
This year’s films will follow current and controversial topics;European films will also be highlighted as the European Film Awards will be presented in Iceland this December. All of the films will be screened at Bíó Paradís with events also taking place at the Nordic House, Sundhöll, and the LOFT hostel. Individual and group tickets can be purchased on the RIFF website.
RIFF was founded in 2004 by a small group of film professionals who sought to present new and progressive quality films, support innovation, and faster social and cultural dialogue. Since then, RIFF has screened approximately 100 feature films from 40 countries each year, making it one of the biggest and most diverse cultural events in Iceland.
