Thanks to everyone who joined us for Taste of Iceland in Edmonton 2014! 


To celebrate Icelandair’s inaugural flight to Edmonton, the city plays host to Taste of Iceland! For the second time in Edmonton, this free four-day event will celebrate Iceland’s food and music from March 5-8, giving the people of Edmonton a taste of what life is like in Iceland.

Icelandic Menu at Characters Fine Dining, March 5-8

Enjoy authentic Icelandic cuisine at Characters Fine Dining as award winning Icelandic guest chef Hakon Mar Orvarsson collaborates with Canadian chef Shonn Oborowsky to offer diners a special menu showcasing fresh ingredients sourced directly from Iceland.

Reykjavik Calling Concert Series, March 7 & 8 

Two FREE Reykjavik Calling concerts celebrate music from both Edmonton and Iceland at Brixx Bar & Grill at the Starlite Room. Over the course of this two night event, three Icelandic musicians will be paired with notable Edmonton-area musicians for two nights of unique musical collaborations! Presented by CITY TV, OMNI TV, SONIC FM and WORLD FM, admission to the two-night concert series is free on a first-come, first-served basis. Must be 18 years or older.Brixx Bar & Grill at the Starlite Room. Over the course of this two night event, three Icelandic musicians will be paired with notable Edmonton-area musicians for two nights of unique musical collaborations! Icelandair Breakfast, March 7

Join us for a special breakfast with the Prime Minister of Iceland, Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson, on Friday, March 7 at 7:30 a.m. Icelandair and Capital Ideas will host a business breakfast in which attendees can hear from the Prime Minister of Iceland and listen to a panel of expert guest speakers discuss the important tourism and business links between Canada and Iceland.
