Icelandic Menu at Coohills
Enjoy authentic Icelandic food at Coohills Restaurant, where Icelandic Chef Hákon Már Örvarsson, Bocuse d’Or recipient and World Culinary Cup winner, will collaborate with Chef Tom Coohill to offer Denver-area diners a special four-course Icelandic menu showcasing the best of Nordic cuisine.

The Icelandic menu also features the delicious 66°North signature cocktail. Named for Iceland’s latitude, Coohills mixologist Jayme Henderson created this drink by combining Reyka Vodka, muddled blueberries, blue Curacao, rosemary simple syrup, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and rhubarb bitters, served up. Reykjavik Calling – Free Concert at The Gothic Theatre
Attend the FREE “Reykjavik Calling” concert at the famed Gothic Theatre featuring a number of fantastic Icelandic and Denver-area artists. Originally built in 1928, the Gothic Theatre was renovated in 1998 and has been transformed into a top music venue with great acoustics and a unique art deco style.
Saturday, September 29 – 8:00 PM, FREE
Reykjavik Calling celebrates music emerging from both the cities of Denver and Reykjavik. This is an event not to be missed, as four Denver-area artists will be paired with four Icelandic counterparts to encourage collaboration on their performances, resulting in an evening of never been heard before musical partnerships. Presented by 88.5 KGNU FM, admission to the free concert is on a first-come, first-serve basis and will feature performances from the following Iceland/Denver duos:

Free Icelandic Film Festival
Denver film enthusiasts are invited to end their weekend with two free screenings of the Icelandic hit films Summerland and Inni. The films will be screened at the L2 Arts and Culture Center located at 1477 Columbine St on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Sunday, September 30 – 2:30 PM & 4:15 PM, FREE
- 2:30 pm: Summerland is a comedy about Lára, a mother of two who is gifted with a sixth sense, and her husband Oskar as they attend to an ancient elf stone in their garden. Oskar becomes tempted when they are offered to sell the stone for a high price.
- 4:15 pm: Inni is famed musician Sigur Rós’ second live film following 2007’s tour documentary Heima. Inni cocoons the viewer in a one-on-one relationship with the band and depicts how it feels for both band and fan to experience Sigur Rós live.
A Taste of Iceland is presented by Iceland Naturally, in cooperation with Icelandair, Reyka Vodka, 66° North, Blue Lagoon, Icelandic Glacial Water, Visit Iceland, Coohills, L2 Arts and Culture Center, Gothic Theatre, Oxford Hotel and 88.5 KGNU FM.
