The Icelandic Canadian Club of Toronto is excited to welcome author Andri Snær Magnason for a live webinar as part of their Saga Connections series. Join the live webinar on June 2nd from 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm ET to learn more about Magnason’s book On Time And Water and hear from the world-renowned author, poet and documentary filmmaker in an up close setting. Andri Snær Magnason is an award-winning writer, poet and documentary filmmaker from Iceland. A few of his awards include the “Novel of the Year” by Icelandic booksellers and the DV literary award. Magnason’s most recent children’s book The Casket of Time won the Icelandic Literary Award and was nominated for Nordic Council Children’s Book Award. In 2021, Magnason won the Writers’ Award from the Icelandic National Broadcasting Service, RÚV.

Magnason will be speaking about his latest book On Time And Water, which has been released in English and more than 30 other languages. The book has been shortlisted for the Nordic Councils Literary Prize of 2021. On Time And Water offers a thought-provoking discussion on climate change from the perspective of a poet and philosopher. Magnason also discusses the interconnectedness of ancient myths and old Icelandic sagas. On Time And Water takes a unique approach to the challenges facing climate change and the connections between our past and our future.
