Rock Out at Iceland Airwaves 2018!

Check out the updated lineup for one of Iceland’s biggest musical events!

One of Iceland’s most highly anticipated music festivals returns to Reykjavik this fall: Iceland Airwaves! Now in its 20th year, Airwaves will bring the hottest names in music to Iceland’s cool cultural setting from November 7-10 and features more female acts than ever before, like Natalie Prass, Alma, Hayley Kiyoko, and Stella Donnelly!

What started as a small concert in an old Icelandic airport hangar back in 1999 has grown into one of the world’s most electric musical events. Iceland Airwaves is famous for introducing new music from every genre, from rock to hip hop to indie and alternative. This year will be the largest festival yet with 221 musical acts set to perform!

This year’s lineup includes some of the biggest names in music, including Cashmere Cat, Úlfur Úlfur, Blood Orange, and Iceland Naturally’s very own Taste of Iceland alumni, Mammút, Beebee and the Bluebirds and Sturla Atlas! Concert-goers can expect to see these artists perform in some of the most unique venues in the world, ranging from tiny record stores and historic museums to trendy bars and beautiful churches beneath the famous northern lights.

New additions to the line-up include Airwaves alumnus Ásgeir who will preview his forthcoming album (set to be released in 2019) in its entirety for the very first time. Ásgeir will also curate a series of once-in-a-lifetime day shows, where a selected number of Airwaves acts will record sessions cut live to vinyl at the famous Stúdíó Hljóðriti in Hafnarfjörður, and given away exclusively to a few lucky Iceland Airwaves attendees! And be sure to check out the special 6am rave (the first of its kind to hit Iceland) hosted by Bella Union and Moshi Moshi as a celebration of their 20th birthday!

As the founding sponsor of the festival, Icelandair wants you to be in the audience at Iceland Airwaves with this travel package. Your Icelandair travel package will include round-trip flights to Reykjavik and an official Iceland Airwaves Festival Pass voucher, which will grant you access to all concert venues. You can also opt to add a two-night minimum stay at a hotel in Reykjavik to be as close as possible to all the action!

If you choose to fly Icelandair, be sure to check out the Icelandair Saga Club! Saga Club members can earn points on all Icelandair flights, any onboard sales (including the Saga Shop Collection and Kitchen), and with any Icelandair partner companies, including Air Iceland Connect, Alaska Airlines, JetBlue and Finnair.

You can also earn points by booking tours and activities through Icelandair.
