The Reykjavik Peace Choir Festival: An International Harmonic Event

On May 20th, the world will come together in Iceland to sing for peace.

The legendary John Lennon once sang, “love is real, real is love.” Now these words are echoed on the international stage at the Reykjavik Peace Choir Festival. Returning May 20th for its third year, the event features renowned musician Ben Parry’s arrangement of Lennon’s piece sung by choirs across the globe.

Yoko Ono praises the Reykjavik Peace Festival as “a beautiful project that has the potential of making the world a better place…I wish with all my heart that we can unite people and nations in conflict for at least 5 minutes in this peaceful moment.”

While the song itself is brief, it is exceptionally powerful – a simple reminder of our ability to come together and create something beautiful. Last year over 1,000 choirs sang in unity; this year, the organizers hope to double that figure. To find out how you can participate click here.
