The Pacifica Quartet Performs at Lincoln Center on November 7th

This evening will take listeners on a musical voyage that is sure to please.

The Pacifica Quartet makes its way back to Alice Tully Hall to perform another profound program at New York’s famed Lincoln Center. The talented group of musicians has received worldwide recognition for their beautiful music. They’ve toured throughout the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Australia, and their awards include the 2009 Grammy Award for Best Chamber Music Performance. They are also affiliated with multiple U.S. universities, including: The University of Illinois: Champaign-Urbana, the University of Chicago, and the Jacob School of Music at Indiana University.

One of the Quartet’s musicians, Sibbi Bernhardsson began playing the violin when he was just five years old in his native Iceland. When the Quartet is not on an international tour, they can be found performing at music festivals around the world, including the Reykjavik Art Festival. Bernhardsson has also performed as a soloist with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Reykjavik Chamber Orchestra.

On November 7th at 7:30 PM, the Quartet will perform a selection of 4 pieces, starting with Haydn’s Quartet, followed by Ran’s Glitter, Doom, Shards, Memory (Quartet #3 for Strings), continuing with Puccini’s Crisantemi for String Quartet, and ending with Mendelssohn’s Quartet in F minor for Strings. The Pacifica Quartet brings a fresh perspective to these classic pieces.

The Quartet’s performances never disappoint, so be sure to join them in New York City on Friday, November 7th.  Ticket prices start at $30, and there is a pre-concert discussion with Shulamit Ran in the Rose Studio, which is free for ticket holders.
