Join Historians for a Webinar About the Icelandic Settlement Story!

Tune in on March 3rd to learn more about the Kinmount Icelandic settlement in Canada.

On March 3rd at 7:30pm ET, the Icelandic Canadian Club of Toronto (ICCT) is hosting a live Zoom webinar about the rediscovery of Kinmount, an Icelandic settlement in Canada. The webinar is the second in a two-part series about the story of Icelandic settlers in Canada. Part 1 took place on December 3, 2020 and involved a discussion of the original Icelandic immigrants who arrived in Kinmount in 1874.

This webinar will unearth details of the Icelandic settlers, discuss the creation of the beautiful stone sculpture In the Presence of a Soul carved by Gurdrun Sigursteinsdóttir Girgis, and explore the Icelandic Canadian Club of Toronto’s history of hosting touring Icelanders at the site. With so many interesting topics, there is surely something for everyone within this webinar!

The event is free for ICCT members, while non-members can access the webinar for just $8! Reserve your spot today to hear from one of the community’s leading fiction writers and to share your stories of great books.
