The Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon Returns for its 37th Year!

The annual marathon will follow guidelines to ensure all runners stay safe in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Runners, on your mark! The 2020 Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon will take place on August 22, 2020 with modifications to keep all runners safe and healthy in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The races will be split into groups to respect the maximum number of runners allowed in each area. The start of the race will be located in Sóleyjargata and the finish line in Lækjargata, so the start of the running routes will change slightly thereafter.

A limited number of runners can participate in each distance, therefore participants must sign up for certain time slots that are given for each distance. Be sure to check in often as event organizers, in collaboration with the Department of Civil Protection, are continuing to update participants.
