Iceland’s renowned design festival, DesignMarch 2019, returns to Reykjavík, transforming the capital city into a hub of creative expression! DesignMarch will take place from March 28-31, and promises to be bigger than ever with local and international designers and artists coming together for over 100 events and exhibitions!
This world-famous festival showcases nearly every type of design imaginable: fashion, furniture, architecture, environment, food, product design and more! The numerous exhibits will be distributed throughout Reykjavík, and visitors will be able to stop by the venues that interest them most to meet the artists and learn about the designs. Kicking off the festival is DesignTalks, a day of informative and eye-opening lectures given by internationally acclaimed designers and leading local design thinkers. Some of this year’s most notable speakers include Kristian Edwards, senior architect at Snøhetta, Philip Fimmano, fashion and lifestyle specialist and co-founder of Talking Textiles, and Lara Lesmes and Fredrik Hellberg, the iconic Space Popular design duo.
