On April 21st, Eva Ingolf, one of Iceland’s finest musicians, will perform at the Scandinavia House in New York City with a program featuring classical music pieces by Dmitri Shostakovich and Johann Sebastian Bach, with a new piece by Mark Hagerty.
Eva Ingold comes from one of Iceland’s premier music families. Her father, Ingólfur Guðbrandsson, founded Pólýfónkórinn, a mixed choir that performed in Reykjavik from 1957 to 1988. Six of Eva’s siblings are also professional musicians. After studying at the Reykjavík College of Music, Eva went to Europe to study under some of the world’s finest violinists, such as Augustin Léon-Ara of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. Some of Eva’s concerts include performances at Carnegie Hall and Trinity Church in New York City.
