The Icelandic Economy – From Bust to Boom to Bust Again?

Don’t miss the IACC’s annual meeting on 10/15 to discuss the Icelandic economy.

Coming up soon is the exciting annual meeting of the Icelandic-American Chamber of Commerce in New York City, to discuss the status of the Icelandic Economy. It takes place Thursday, October 15th at 11:15 a.m. to noon, followed by a keynote presentation, and a luncheon ending at 1:30 p.m.

Don’t miss keynote speaker Þorsteinn Víglundsson, Director General of Business Iceland. He’ll bring up important issues surrounding the current state of the economy and the vital questions: is the economy overheating and is there another bubble around the corner? How can an economic crash be prevented? He’ll also address the investment environment, capital controls, job market, inflation, and more. It will be an incredibly beneficial meeting for business owners invested in the Icelandic-American economy and those keeping track of the fast-paced economic environment.

Business Iceland is a service organization whose member associations include around 2,000 businesses. The organization accounts for an impressive 70% of all salaried employees on the Icelandic labor market, making their efforts crucial to the current business and economic world. They are constantly negotiating collective agreements with unions on wages and working conditions, advocating for an internationally competitive legal environment, and communicating decisions by governmental authorities that affect the business environment.
