Icelandic Culture Comes Alive at the Annual Reykjavik Culture Night!

Celebrate an entire night of Icelandic food, music, fireworks and more.

With diverse music, rich traditional dishes, and a history of unique artists, Iceland’s culture truly is like no other in the world. To celebrate the spirit of Icelandic culture, the capital city of Reykjavik will come alive on August 18th for the annual Reykjavik Culture Night! Honoring the spirit of Icelandic hospitality, this year’s slogan is “Come on in!” inviting guests from Iceland and all over the world to gather in the city’s museums, restaurants, gardens and more for an unforgettable night.

Reykjavik Culture Night marks the start of the city’s cultural calendar, when museums, theaters and other cultural destinations launch their annual program of events. The event begins at 1:00pm, and the celebrations last well into the night. Just some of the programs on this year’s schedule include an Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon and Fun Run, costume photo shoots, emerging art exhibitions, an open dance floor in the streets of Reykjavik, and so much more. Lastly, don’t miss the grand finale of the night with a fantastic fireworks show over Reykjavik’s beautiful harbor!

The Reykjavik Culture Night is the perfect summer event to experience all that Iceland has to offer. What’s your favorite aspect of Icelandic culture?? Let us know in the comments below, or join us in the conversation on Twitter @IcelandNatural!
