Icelandic artist Sigurður Guðjónsson will be featured, along with many other Nordic artists, in Scandinavia House’s latest exhibit, Another North: Landscape Reimagined. The exhibition will highlight both photographic and video works that explore landscape outside its traditional means. Between May 6 – August 6, you can tour the exhibition in New York City for free Tuesdays and Saturdays from 12pm to 6pm and Wednesdays from 12pm to 7pm.
Sigurður Guðjónsson studied in Vienna, Reykjavík and Copenhagen before starting his exhibition career in the artist-run experimental scene in Reykjavík. With his dark and moody videos he has attracted people to his exhibits all around the world. Sigurður’s work has been featured in venues such as the National Gallery of Iceland; Reykjavik Art Museum; Hafnarborg, Iceland; Frankfurter Kunstverein, Germany; Arario Gallery; Beijing and Liverpool Biennial.
Founded in 2000, the Scandinavia House is home to Nordic culture in North America. Scandinavia House offerings include diverse exhibitions and film series, as well as concerts and other performances, readings, lectures, symposia, language courses and children’s activities.
