Icelandic American Chamber of Commerce to Host Conference in Washington D.C.

Now more than ever, it seems vital for countries to work together to solve the most pressing international issues. On May 9th, 2017, the Icelandic American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) will team up with the American-Icelandic Chamber of Commerce to host the conference, “Is the United States at Political and Economic Crossroads?” Set at the Embassy of Iceland in Washington D.C., the conference will focus on discussing any future potential changes in U.S. politics and trade policies and how those might affect Iceland and other European countries on the international stage.

Founded in 1986, the IACC promotes the development of business and trade between the United States and Iceland. This conference will open a conversation between American and Icelandic leaders in business and government and tackle topics such as the new U.S. administration, American foreign policies and the future of US-Euro relations in a post-Brexit world. The conference will also feature presentations from Birkir Holm Gudnason, CEO of Icelandair; Thordís Kolbrún R. Gylfadóttir, the Minister of Tourism; Jon Sopel, BBC’s North America Editor; and ambassadors from the Embassy of Iceland.
