The third annual Iceland Writers Retreat, held in Reykjavik from April 13th-17th, 2016, will provide an inspiring experience for writers from around the world. Although the 2016 retreat is sold out, there is a new way for interested writers to learn from the featured authors without being there in person. Leading up to the official retreat kick-off, the public reading will be accessible via live stream for the first time on April 12th at 4:00 p.m. ET.
It is no surprise the unique retreat is sold out as Eliza Reid, the founding director of Iceland Writers Retreat, hosted packed events this past March during Taste of Iceland in Boston and Chicago! Click here to learn more about her presentation at these festivals.
During the retreat, renowned writers will lead intimate workshops for motivated writers to attend to improve their writing skills and explore their imagination. The event will feature ten authors from six countries around the world. Among these authors are Cheryl Strayed, author of the bestselling memoir, Wild; Giller Prize winner Vincent Lam; and bestselling authors Miriam Toews, Mark Kurlansky and Adelle Waldman.
On Tuesday, April 12th, the day before the official start of the retreat, all ten featured authors will be participating in a free public reading at Nordic House in Reykjavik at 4:00 p.m. ET. If you aren’t able to make it to Iceland, don’t fret (as long as you’ve got Wi-Fi) – you can livestream the event from wherever you are! The stream will also be accessible after the event, in case you tune in late.
