Hafdis Huld Chosen as the Official Showcase Artist for the Folk Alliance International Conference

The acoustic pop/folk singer is the first-ever showcase artist hailing from Iceland!

With over 6 million Spotify streams, several #1 singles and albums, and a global fan-base spanning 65 countries, Icelandic artist Hafdis Huld has made quite the name for herself in the music industry. Now, the Reykjavik native will be taking her talents to Montreal, where she will perform as an Official Showcase Artist for the Folk Alliance International Conference.

From February 13th to 17th, 2019, thousands of artists, fans, and industry figures alike will come together to take part in the world’s largest gathering in the folk music community. Through its yearly conference, Folk Alliance International seeks to connect this community and preserve the genre. Huld will be joined by a number of other prominent folk artists, whose performances over the course of the conference will make this a truly extraordinary event. Although the conference is in its 30th year, this is the first time an Icelandic artist has been chosen as an Official Showcase Artist. The event features a variety of musical offerings: a headlining performance by each Showcase Artist, more intimate Private Showcases, and collaborative Lobby Jams. In addition to her own main showcase performance, Huld will be hosting six private showcases. Register here to attend the conference and experience Huld’s iconic artistry live!

February will be a notable month for Huld: in addition to performing at the FAI Conference, she will be releasing her 5th studio album, titled ‘Variations’! The album will feature Huld’s own versions of her favorite songs by other artists, putting a unique spin on some well-known classics. Keep an eye out for the release of ‘Variations’ on February 8th, and check out Hafid Huld’s music below or on her website!
