Explore the Beauty of Icelandic Glaciers at Ásmundarsalur Gallery’s New Exhibit!

The gallery features Icelandic photographer Ragnar Axelsson’s renowned collection.

Throughout November, Icelandic photographer Ragnar Axelsson will showcase his famous photos of Iceland’s glaciers at the Ásmundarsalur gallery.

His unique images have captivated his audience, and provide a new, abstract perspective on one of Iceland’s most famous features. “I don’t use drones, I want to take the photos myself,” he told the Iceland Monitor, “I have to hold the camera myself.”

Ragnar Axelsson spent the last 30 years photographing people, weather, and landscapes throughout the Arctic, including Iceland, Greenland and Siberia. He has published 6 books and won the 2016 Icelandic Book Prize, along with over 20 Icelandic photographer awards. His photos of glaciers have consumed the last ten years of his career and he has published them in his book, “Glacier.”

Be sure to check out more of Ragnar’s work on his website and see below for his latest interview with the Iceland Monitor!
