The Iceland Airwaves festival has officially revealed the full 2019 line up ahead of the event, which will take place in Reykjavík November 6-9. The 21st annual Iceland Airwaves festival will be hosting some of the biggest acts from Iceland and around the globe. The 2019 artist line up represents 24 countries and countless genres, including classical, rock, folk, electronic and pop!
The festival started in 1999 as a small concert in an old Icelandic airport hanger and now hosts 200+ acts over 4 days! Iceland Airwaves is considered a trailblazer for Icelandic music festivals, bringing together a multinational audience to celebrate music, culture and the Icelandic lifestyle. This year’s lineup revealed that, after a five-year hiatus, Hjaltalín is returning to the stage with a brand new sound! Additionally, German house music group Booka Shade is set to make an appearance. There are also several countries who are sending musical representatives for the first time this year, including Indonesia and Palestine! Stars and Rabbit, the indie duo hailing from Indonesia will bring their talent to Iceland, as well as singer-songwriter Bashar Murad, a collaborator of Hatari!
Icelandair, the founding sponsor of the festival, is offering a special travel package for Iceland Airwaves guests! Both festival passes and travel packages are now available. The package includes:
