For the ninth consecutive year, Reykjavik will transform into a hot spot for design from March 23-26, 2017. DesignMarch is the country’s most important annual design festival, highlighting all facets of design including architecture, graphic design, fashion, furniture and product design from both under-the-radar local designers and international names. The 2017 event will be the largest yet, with over 30,000 visitors, and more than 100 exhibitions, events and workshops expected to take place everywhere from the fishing harbor to main street to the lava fields outside the city.
Kick off the weekend with the keynote event, DesignTalks, located at Reykjavik’s architectural landmark, The Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre. Become inspired by leading design creatives and thinkers as they discuss the impact and relevance of design in today’s world. One of the first confirmed speakers at DesignTalk is Alexander Taylor who has worked on design innovation for Adidas, helping to create a customizable 3D printed shoe sole and eco-friendly shoe fabric made using plastic waste filtered out of the oceans.
