DesignMarch is Iceland Design and Architecture’s annual festival that showcases every type of design imaginable from fashion to furniture and more! The DesignMarch festival has been successfully highlighting the Icelandic design scene since 2009. The festival usually takes place in March, however due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 festival was pushed to June and the warmer weather was well received by participants. This year, it will take place May 19-23.
The art festival will transform Reykjavík into one big venue for design. With over 100 events and exhibitions spread throughout the city for five days, the festival gives a great insight into the fresh design scene. The exhibits will involve themes such as recycling, the future, production, research, senses, innovation, and sustainability.
Iceland Design and Architecture provides designers, companies, the public, international partners, and the media with an insight on all things design in Iceland. They also work to build a base of knowledge regarding needs and opportunities in the fields of design and architecture. Each year, Iceland Design and Architecture holds DesignMarch and the Icelandic Design Awards and brings together participants and guests with progressive design and innovation.
