Events will be taking place both in person and online.

The Icelandic Literature Center promotes Icelandic literary work both in Iceland and across the globe. Due to the current pandemic, the Icelandic Literature Center has worked to provide a number of events for book lovers to take part in both online and in person. Check out the upcoming events featuring Icelandic authors for October and November below!

October 1: Einar Már Guðmundsson and Gerður Kristný will appear at NordOrd at the North Atlantic House (Nordatlantens Brygge) in Copenhagen, where they will discuss their literature, sign copies of their books and answer questions from the audience. 

October 3: GerðurKristný will also take part in Poetry without Borders 2020, alongside poets from various countries.

October 14: Join a pre-recorded panel, An Introduction to Icelandic Writers, that will feature writer, poet and former IWR faculty Gerður Kristný, crime writer Lilja Sigurðardóttir, poet and former IWR volunteer Fríða Ísberg, and children’s book writer, playwright and former IWR attendee Ævar Þór Benediktsson. November 13-14: Gyrðir Elíasson will be a guest at Christianshavns Bogfestival 2020, at the North Atlantic House (Nordatlantens Brygge) in Copenhagen. Check out more information on this event on their Facebook page.

November 19-29: Three Icelandic authors will be guests of the festival, Les Boréales that takes place in Caen, France. Bergsveinn Birgisson, Jón Kalman Stefánsson and Sigríður Hagalín Björnsdóttir will join this festival that is focused on the literature and culture of the Nordic and Baltic countries.
