Iceland in the summer is truly unlike any other. With a schedule full of cultural activities, you’re sure to find one that is right for you! Harpa, Iceland’s award-winning concert hall, and Visit Reykjavík proudly present a new concert series, Reykjavík Classics in Eldborg. The series will run from June 30th – August 14th. Each concert has a program that represents masterworks from a classical repertoire. The performing artists are leading soloists in Iceland with international honors and professional achievements from the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Icelandic Opera. Nína Margrét Grímsdóttiris, the artistic director of Reykjavik Classics, is excited to welcome the series as an addition to the city’s vibrant arts scene.
Looking for more summer fun? On July 9th and 10th, the Viking Festival Ingólfshátíd will be held in the center of Reykjavik. The festival invites fellow vikings (and viking enthusiasts) dressed in full costume and character from all over the world to enjoy a weekend of wonderful festivities and celebrate the fascinating cultural heritage of the vikings! On July 20th, LG OLED TV invites visitors to experience the Perfect Black project. Visitors will be given the opportunity to view the Aurora Borealis at Harpa, with music from Iceland’s own Of Monsters and Men and special guest Ólafur Arnalds.
