Experience Icelandic food, music, film and more at these action-packed cultural events!

Taste of Iceland in Seattle | Oct. 13 – 16

Taste of Iceland returns to its sister city Oct. 13 – 16! Grab a taste of Iceland with a special menu at the Carlile Room curated by Seattle chef Desmond Bonow and Icelandic chef Siggi Helga, and enjoy unique Brennivin and Reyka Vodka cocktails created by mixologist Felicia Chin-Braxton. Rock out at the famous Reykjavik Calling concert at Neumos with Icelandic bands Fufanu and JFDR. Learn about Icelandic sagas and Norse mythology on KEXP with Örnólfur Thorsson and Dr. Gisli Sigurdsson, and enjoy literature readings and discussions with Gudmundur Andri Thorsson at Elliott Bay Books. Finally, take a peek at Icelandic art with Steinunn Sigurdardottir’s exhibit “The Weather Diaries” at the Nordic Heritage Museum.

Taste of Iceland in Toronto | Nov. 10 – 13

Canadians, mark your calendars: Taste of Iceland takes Toronto Nov. 10 – 13. Chow down on some Icelandic cuisine at Jump prepared by guest Icelandic chef Sigurður Helgason; listen to your favorite Icelandic and Torontonian bands at Reykjavik Calling at The Horseshoe Tavern; learn about the importance of Icelandic literature with Icelandic Writers Retreat founder (and Iceland’s First Lady!) Eliza Reid; and dive into the Icelandic rock scene with a documentary viewing and discussion with Sigtryggur Baldursson.
