Taste of Iceland in New York City | Sept. 27 – Oct. 1

Taste of Iceland heads to the Big Apple Sept. 27-Oct. 1! Stop by Norman for an Icelandic menu prepared by Icelandic chef Viktor Örn Andrésson and his American counterpart, Andrew Whitcomb. Taste of Iceland’s acclaimed (free!) concert, Reykjavik Calling, rolls into Knitting Factory Brooklyn for a night of musical fun with Icelandic bands Fufanu and Mammút. Learn all about Iceland’s thriving art scene at Okay Space with the director of the Icelandic Art Center, Björg Stefánsdóttir. Take in a film screening of Icelandic shorts, Shortfish, at Nitehawk Cinema. Don’t miss a discussion with Iceland’s first lady, Eliza Reid, at Spoonbill & Sugartown Booksellers where she’ll explain how Iceland’s prolific storytelling culture survives through the years.  Ingibjörg Gréta Gísladóttir from Reykjavik Runway will share all you need to know about the new wave of Icelandic design during an event at Artists and Fleas!

Taste of Iceland in Seattle | Oct. 12 – 15

The 2017 festival  marks ten years of Taste of Iceland in Seattle! Join Iceland Naturally in celebrating a decade of Taste of Iceland in Seattle with exciting events happening all around the city. The Carlile Room will host a complete menu takeover when renowned Icelandic chef Viktor Örn Andrésson lands in Seattle, accompanied by Carlile Room’s chef, Dezi Bownow. Mixologist Nick Jarvis will shake up some delicious cocktails featuring Iceland’s favorite spirits, Reyka Vodka and Brennivin. KEXP will host Reykjavik Calling, a free concert featuring Icelandic bands Mammút and Fufanu alongside a local Seattle act. Catch a set of Icelandic shorts at SIFF for Taste of Iceland’s Shortfish film screening. For all things Iceland, head to Iceland Day at KEXP, featuring modern mystic rune portraits, yarn storming and more! The Director of the Icelandic Art Center, Björg Stefánsdóttir, will teach attendees about Iceland’s amazing arts scene at Bellevue Art Museum.
