All Tomorrow’s Parties is a boutique festival that offers quality customer experience, award winning sound and acclaimed organization. Since 2000, it has spread its ethos of uniquely intimate and eclectic events from London to cities in the UK, US, Australia, and Asia, and from July 2-4 this year, the festival will return to Iceland.
ATP Iceland 2015 will be held at Ásbrú, a former NATO base in Iceland, which is conveniently located 5 minutes from Iceland’s international airport, 15 minutes from Blue Lagoon and 30 minutes from vibrant Reykjavik. The festival site, which reaches capacity at 5,000, will feature more than 30 artists at two indoor stages and a cinema. This year’s lineup includes standout international as well as acclaimed local artists, from Iggy Pop, Belle and Sebastian and Public Enemy to Grísalappalisa, Kiasmos and Börn.
ATP founder Barry Hogan said: “Each year the event is growing and we are working on a fantastic line up to follow on from the likes of Portishead and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. Belle and Sebastian is now our first headliner in what promises to be an exciting third chapter of the ATP Iceland chronicle.”
Attendees can also partake in a unique “life on a NATO Base” exhibition tour while onsite. The tour will focus on the everyday lives of U.S. soldiers and their families during their tour of duty at Naval Air Station Keflavik (NASKEF), Iceland. For over half a century, more than 200,000 U.S. citizens lived and worked at NASKEF along with thousands of Icelandic employees That is a high number considering that the Icelandic population is barely more than 300,000. The gates to NASKEF were closed in September 2006, marking the end of an era. The exhibition is a beginning of a conversation that looks at different cultures and how they coexisted during this time
